The beautiful Varian Thorny Oyster is closely related to the scallop and lives permanently attached to corals or rocks.
Due to their flower-like appearance thorny oysters are sometimes
known as Chrysanthemum Shells. The species (Spondylus Varians) can be
commonly found in the Philippines.
