Horseshoe Crabs, Limulus polyphemus, are collected from Atlantic waters bordering the Americas. These crabs and other Limulus species have existed since the time of the dinosaurs. While they are called crabs, they are more closely related to scorpions and spiders. Horseshoe Crabs tend to prefer a sand substrate. They move through the substrate in search of bristleworms and uneaten food. Horseshoe crabs require large aquariums when they reach a mature size.

Notes: This species must molt in order to grow. The animal is vulnerable at this time and should not be disturbed. Proper iodine levels assist with successful molting. Out of Stock for now check back
