These delicate, harder to find, unusual red/green oval shaped abalones are very beautiful. Abalones are of course edible and can be found in most corners of the world in cold waters. They're also known as ear shells (well they are ear shaped!) and muttonfish - that's probably due to the flesh being considered rather tasty in Australia.
