Since shark skeletons are composed of cartilage instead of bone, often the only remains of sharks to survive as fossils are teeth. Fossil shark teeth date back millions of years, including these beautiful Otodus obliquus specimens from the early Eocene (50 million years ago) of Morocco. Otodus, a large early-mackerel shark, was king of his day.

These teeth are noted for their wide triangular crown, large side cusps, 2 3/4"+ X 1 3/4 in size.
